Do You Love Jesus? Do You Love God’s Word?

Posted by Scott on February 26, 2008

Ok, we say we love Jesus, huh?  Well, do we love the word of God, too?  The scriptures are in the very image of Christ Himself…“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God…”   Guys, we need to understand one thing, the scripture judges our heart not the reverse…God’s law was not just for the Old Testament, it is our mirror even today or to be more direct a “magnifying glass” upon our heart to point to our total sinfulness and our need for the grace of God found in Christ to save us.  We need to be in love with the entire Word of God both in script and in being, not just a small little section of the Word of God or one little aspect of Jesus that just looooved everyone and never confronted sin…they think!  Everyone only wants to know about the mild mellow soft speaking Jesus and forget about the Jesus that confronted the Pharisees, Jewish leaders and the money changers in the temple.  Many in the church today do not believe in the Jesus that put a curse on the fig tree when He was hungry or the Jesus that turned over the table in the temple or the Jesus that went toe to toe with satan himself and won.  Jesus was not a wimp people, He was strong, in control, and very much a man as well and Jesus HATED sin!

Jesus was in the beginning, not just in the New Testament.  Far too many churches are building themselves around these little sections of scripture and calling it ministry.  Never let yourself be so mislead and to think that all the church is to process people in the front door get them saved and then out the back door to do the same….very immature and shallow Christianity.

Along with the love of scripture comes a burning desire in our hearts for accurate and true doctrine…the love of God’s Word.  If you really love Jesus and His word you will burn with the desire for the true doctrine of the faith.  It is very important to understand this point.  A church that has no doctrine or statement of faith has no foundation and will not stand the test of time.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us 12For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

What are the thoughts and intentions of our hearts?  Which Jesus are we trusting in guys?

    really great thoughts.
in my opinion we have to think this matter very seriousely.we have to propagate this very idea in the new generation so that they will not astray from the path of the divine commandments.it is the duty of every parent because it is commanded to us in deut.6:4-8
