Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose! Eckhart Tolle

Posted by Scott on April 11, 2008

“I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth…for the first heaven and first earth had passed away”.     Revelation 21:1

I have been watching and listening intently at many actors and actresses as they describe what this New Earth book by Eckhart Tolle means to them.  With such terms as “a new conscienceness” or “a new earth” being thrown around.  I watched and listened to the sincerity of each of them including other people who are simply a follower of Oprah.  I even have studied Oprah through all of this and how she is changing daily because of this “new revelation” from this book.  So, I wanted to try to be brief and clear about what is taking place here.  As many people are looking for the meaning of life, true peace, true happiness, and true joy.  Many of these same people are also looking for riches, glory, honor, and influence that they have never had before.  I would ask that anyone contemplating turning their hearts and eternity over to this “new conscienceness” to listen and meditate closely on what is presented within this text.

Galatians 1:6 [ There Is Only One Good News ] I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News.”

First items I heard was the different words used that you will hear in Christianity and other religions.  This can throw many people off are not versed in the scriptures.  Psalm 26:2-3 it tells us “Test me, O Lord, and try me.  Examine my heart and my mind, for your love is ever before me…”  I would encourage you to first ask God to examine your heart and mind to see if it is of a sound doctrine.  God will show us through His word, the Bible, if we are on the right track or not.  We know that many will come say they have found a “new way”, “new light”, new revelation”, or even the way to a “new earth”…however, this does not mean it is the truth.  God’s word tells us also that our ways are not God’s ways nor is our thoughts God’s thoughts.  So, we cannot believe for a moment that we have discovered anything new or discovered the secret to God.  For a few thousand years now we have found in the bible the true way to a personal relationship with God.  This personal relationship is as real as two people setting across from each other at a table talking.  This “new earth” way is not a personal realtionship with God…there is no God in the Tolle philosophy.  Do you want a rock you can stand on?  Do you want someone that has felt your pain and died for your depraved mind and heart?  Would you like to settle the issue of eternity while you live your life on earth?  Would you like to be able to get through those lowest times in your life with a spiritual being carrying you through?  This is all found in Jesus Christ.  He will deliver true peace, true joy, true happiness, true prosperity…not this feel good methodology.  God never ask that you empty your mind like Tolle tells his people and meditate.  God wants you to meditate on His word…He will direct you and teach you something from that, not an empty mind listening to whatever spirit blows across your mind.  The most dangerous thing in the world is emptying your minds to nothing.  Look to the authority of the scriptures, the holiness of a sovereign God and to the loving righteousness of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Jesus tells us in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

Now, I would ask Eckhart Tolle and Oprah from what authority they preach and teach this book to millions of people?  One must have authority before they can make such claims as they do.  The Bible is time tested and has survived each test…however, this new book has not survived the test of even a years time yet.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  Now, I ask again, by what authority does Oprah and Eckhart preach and teach the themes within Tolle’s new book?  They have no authority from heaven, but possible from the millions of people that have cleared their minds to winds of any spirit travelling by at the moment.  This is not authority, but it is mindless popularity.  Millions of people are willing to place their eternity in the hands of a paperback book written by a non-authority in eternal things.  This puzzles me somewhat, that this many people are willing to empty their minds to something that is not proven nor will it be proven unless it is to be false.

Many people have been taught incorrectly in churches for decades by unholy men or unknowledgable men.  These men did not convey the love within the pages of God’s word.  They did not expound on the word correctly for the most part either to the point that legalism took the place of true Christianity.  C.S. Lewis plainly spoke one time, “It is Christ Himself not the Bible who is the true Word of God.  The Bible, read in the right spirit and with the guidance of good leaders, will bring us to Him.”  The mistake for decades has been worshipping the words on a page or a book rather than the power behind the words on those pages which is found in Jesus Christ.  John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.”  Who is the Word?  It is Jesus Christ.  Who was with God in the beginning?  Jesus!

What is our life’s purpose?  It is to bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ in all things.  The beauty of the earth was to bring glory to God.  The suffering of Jesus was to glorify the Father in heaven.  Our life is to honor and love Christ regardless what we are going through.  God wants you and I to delight in Him.  Not when we are buying a new car, house, or clothes neccessarily, but when we are walking through the dark valley of death, when we are sick and dying in a hospital, when a child or loved one is killed suddenly, or when we are bankrupt financially with no end in sight….this is when God wants us to delight in Him in all things.  “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4.  Does this mean if we desire a new car then we call out to our magic Geni and He will deliver a new car?  No, it means that if we will delight in Him, then our hearts can be tested and found to be one with Him…this results in our desires matching up with God’s.  Our desires will then want nothing less than honor and glory for Him…new cars, new houses, new clothes, and new things will not even be in the picture…our personal relationship with Jesus will replace those earthly, selfish desires.

Throughout all of scripture, if we are at one with our Lord, we can find our loving Jesus in every book of the bible from Genesis to Revelation.  It is more than inspiring…it is life transforming.  Read the list below of who Christ is throughout the entire Bible:

HE IS!

In Genesis He is the breath of life

In Numbers He is the fire by night

and In Revelation He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace, The Son of Man, the Lamb of God, the Great “I AM”…He is the alpha and omega, Our God and Savior….He is Jesus Christ the Lord.

You see there is no new conscienceness or new revelation…the only new earth will be after Jesus comes back after He has defeated the wicked on this earth…after the old heaven and earth are gone away then comes the new Jerusalem here on earth.  God has and always will be the same yesterday, today, and in the future.  He is outside of time and is not bound by our time.  He is the awesome God of the Universe and beyond.  If you want to awaken to your life’s purpose…then give your heart and soul to Christ, not some new age philosophy out of a book that really has no meaning at all.  Do not trust your eternity to mindless talk and philosophies…trust your eternity to the God who created you and wants you to be with Him for all eternity.

Oprah and Eckhart, there is only one way to heaven, to the heavenly Father, to a true relationship with God…that is through Jesus Christ our Lord Who sets at the right hand of the Father today.  There is no other way regardless of what any man walking this earth from past to present tells you.  Jesus tells us “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate  and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”  Further He tells us “I Am the gate, whoever enters through Me will be saved.”  This New Earth by Eckhart Tolle and is being taught by its new false prophet, Oprah Winfrey, is the broad road….it looks good, sounds great, is just what man thinks in his own depraved heart he is looking for….how could it be bad when it does so much good?  I tell you now that this broad road, this new earth, this new conscienceness only leads to destruction.  Oprah said in public and denied that Jesus Christ was the only way…this was a public denial of the deity of Jesus Christ and will lead to her ultimate destruction.  I plead with anyone listening to not fall for it or travel down that path…stay with the narrow way, the small gate which is Jesus!

Getting the Ammonites and Amalekites to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms. The Israelites were subject to Eglon king of Moab for eighteen years.

a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

are only a small village among all the people of Judah.
Yet a ruler of Israel will come from you,
one whose origins are from the distant past.”

    Nahum 1:7
    “The LORD is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him…”

    Zephaniah 3:12
“Those who are left will be the lowly and humble,
for it is they who trust in the name of the Lord.”

    Haggai 2:7-9
“I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘The silver is mine and the gold is mine,’ declares the LORD Almighty. ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”

    Zechariah 13:1
“On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.”

    Malachi 4:2
“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.”

    Acts 2:3
“They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.”

    Romans 3:24
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…”

    1 Corinthians 13:1-13
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

    Galatians 3:13
“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

    Ephesians 1:7
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace..”

    Philippians 2:5-11
“Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
    but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    and became obedient to death—
    even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.”

    Colossians 2:9
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words.”

    1 Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus..”

    Hebrews 8-10

    James 5:13-16
“Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

    1 Peter 5:4
“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”

    Jude 1:24-25
“To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”

    Revelation 19:16
“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Hope all these references are helpful to you, Tharian. Some you may have to study within the complete context in order to understand the relationship and I hope I have not misquoted any. It is a great study and research that opens the eyes to Christ throughout all of scriptures.

    Tharian,

The book referenced here is not worthy of your time. It basically speaks of believing in nothing but self. Oprah Winfrey is a TV personality that makes over $280 million per year. She has started this religion for lack of a better word based on this book and I have heard her state that Jesus Christ is not the only way…that there are millions of ways to God. Basically you find the way that pleases you and that will be good enough. They do not believe in hell or heaven as a place, but that heaven is here within you and hell is what you make of your life here. They have mingled in Budhha and Christianity with a hint of Hindu mysticism.

So, if you have not read the book you are not missing anything….same false religion as has been going around for thousands of years just wrapped in a new package with a new millionaire prophet to help it along.

    In Christ,

Scott – this was a great post. It saddens me to see people leaning on empty promises. We all must pray that people see the Truth. I may not understand the full mystery of Jesus Christ – but one day I will because His promises are real and His truth is a solid rock that cannot be moved. Thank you for sharing your insight on the Tolle philosophy. Kindly, Tracy

Thanks for taking time to read it Tracy. The part that concerns me most is that the majority of Oprah’s followers are said to be Christian women and they are buying into this. They are going along with her as though she has it all figured out and whatever she says is the gospel rather than what God says. Another concern of mine is the fact that with her influence and money she can sway such a huge part of the population that it is dangerous. First day Tolle and her new religion started had over 300,000 subscribers and the following week that number was over 1,000,000. Talking about a fast growing church…that needs to be watched closely. I do know that God is in control, fully sovereign and that is why I am not worried about it, but I am conerned for those people blindly following her off the cliff.

I do not even pretend to know all about Christ, but I do enough to know that what Tolle and Oprah believe in is not Jesus Christ and it is not biblical, but is a devilish lie that have embraced with all their hearts. A very sad day for all who follow this.

    Pressing on in Christ,

BRUCE, THANKS FOR THESE LINKS. VERY GOOD COMMENTARY AND POST. I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WILL READ ALL OF OUR POST THAT REFUTE THE ECKHART TOLLE AND OPRAH WINFREY RELIGION….OR SHOULD I STATE THAT THE SCRIPTURE REFUTES OVERWHELMINGLY. GOOD WORK AND KEEP POSTING.

I wanted to mention that Eckhart Tolle quotes Matthhew 5:3 in his book, “Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

His analysis of this verse is completely false. This is the first of the Beatitudes Jesus tells us about and must take place in order for the following “Blesseds” to be possible. The “Poor in Spirit” are the humble or those with true humility. These will inherit the kingdom of heaven. Humility or self-denial is of most importance in the work of Christ. It is not letting go of your baggage so that you are lighter and able to experience some new conscienceness…that is new age “hogwash”. Humility is being content with what you have in Christ and being content with where you are in Christ. It is being obedient to God no matter where you are in life…you do not take your own being into consideration, you simply say “yes” Lord and go where He says to go and do what He says to do.

Eckhart Tolle has taken this verse out of its context and misquoted its true meaning or falsely taught on this verse in his book…now Eckhart tells us that theologians and teachers for over 2,000 years did not understand it, but all the sudden reading it out of context he has the real meaning. He has no biblical authority to translate the scriptures especially since he did not even take time to understand the real greek meaning of this text. This is typical of most who try to mingle Christian truth with new age philosophy and other religion mysticism. The warning is to stay clear…it is no threat to Christianity, but it is a threat to those who fall for the lie.

    In Christ,

    Kind sir,
The problem I have with your thesis is that you clearly have not read the book “The New Earth” or watched Oprah’s webinar with Mr. Tolle where they discuss and explore it.
If you had you would realize that the book in no way attempts to undermine Christianity. In fact, after reading it I am able to quiet my mind enough to listen for the Lord. I am also able to recognize my petty ego that tries to distract me from the Lord.
    No, you are confused friend.
I think you are very fearful.
God bless you and grant you peace.

PAULA, IN NO WAY AM I FEARFUL OF THIS BOOK. I HAVE BEEN ON THE WEBINAR’S WITH TOLLE AND OPRAH. YOU CANNOT INTER-MINGLE OTHER RELIGIONS TO SUPPORT YOUR PRESUMPTIONS. I HOPE YOU DO LISTEN TO THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY….NOT WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART TO BE GOD, BUT THE GOD OF THE HOLY BIBLE….THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, ISAAC, AND JACOB. I HAVE GIVEN YOU SPECIFC SCRIPTURE TO ENCOURAGE YOU IN THIS….LISTEN CAREFULLY TO IT AND SEARCH IT OUT WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AS YOUR GUIDE NOT THIS BOOK, TOLLE OR OPRAH AS YOUR GUIDE OR YOU MAY BE WASTED IN THE TOLLE/OPRAH HERESIES.

I HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK FRONT TO BACK….WTIHIN THE FIRST FEW CHAPTERS I DID NOT HAVE TO READ FURTHER TO KNOW IT IS NOT A BOOK THAT GLORIFIES GOD. WITHIN THE COMMENT SECTION I POINTED OUT A FALSE TRANSLATION BY TOLLE OF MATTHEW 5:3….TO BE “POOR IN SPIRIT” IS TO BE HUMBLE, FULL OF HUMILITY, SELF-DENYING….NOT AS TOLLE SAID THAT IT IS EMPTYING YOURSELF OF ALL YOUR BAGGAGE SO YOU ARE LIGHTER TO RECEIVE SOME “NEW CONSCIENCENESS”. VERY DANGEROUS LANGUAGE THAT IS NOTHING NEW IN REALITY, BUT OF THE NEW AGE AGENDA THAT HAS BEEN SPEWED OVER THE DECADES ALREADY, BUT WRAPPED UP IN A BRAND NEW PACKAGE. PAULA, MY POST IS RIGHT ON TARGET. BY THE MERE FACT THAT MILLIONS ARE EMBRACING THIS TELLS ME TOLLE AND OPRAH ARE OFF TARGET. THE FACT THAT OPRAH IS THE FORCE BEHIND THIS BOOKS SUCCESS TELLS ME OF ITS FALSENESS…SHE HAS DENIED THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN. IF YOU PRESCRIBE TO THIS BELIEF THEN YOU MY DEAR PAULA ARE IN THE WRONG BELIEF AND DO NOT KNOW THE LORD TO WHICH YOU CLAIM TO LISTEN TO.

JOHN 14:6 JESUS SAYS CLEARLY, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me.”

THIS MAY BE VERY NARROW, BUT IT IS CLEAR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TOLLE’S TAKE ON THAT VERSE IS. PAULA, I HAVE LISTENED, WATCHED, OBSERVED HOURS OF TOLLE WITH SOME VIEWING ON OPRAH. I HAVE READ AS MUCH OF TOLLE’S STUFF AS I WANTED TO…TO READ THAT BOOK IS OF NO EDIFICATION FOR ME, SO I WILL NOT WASTE THAT MUCH OF MY PRECIOUS TIME READING SOMETHING THAT IS NOT TRUTH….IT HAS THE APPEARANCE OF TRUTH, BUT YOU MUST KNOW GOD PERSONALLY IN ORDER TO SEE THE UNTRUTH IN IT. THE ENDS DO NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS IN THE PURPOSE OF THE BOOK AS IT IS INITIALLY SAID TO BE WRITTEN FOR. KEEP LISTENING TO TOLLE AND OPRAH….CONTINUE TO WALK DOWN THAT PATH AND SEE HOW CLOSE YOU BECOME TO THE TRUE GOD OF THE SCRIPTURES.

FINALLY, TOLLE AND OPRAH TELL EVERYONE THAT HEAVEN IS HERE ON EARTH WITHIN US, THAT HELL IS NOT A REAL PLACE, THAT JESUS REALLY DID NOT SUFFER ON THE CROSS, BUT THE CROSS IS OURS TO BARE FIGURATIVELY, JESUS IS NOT THE ONLY WAY TO FIND GOD! THE SCRIPTURES TELL US THAT HEAVEN IS REAL…JESUS SAYS TO HIS FOLLOWERS THE BELIEVERS IN JOHN 14:1-3, “Do not let your hearts troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.” I ASK IS THERE MUCH QUESTION ON THIS PLACE BEING SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN HERE ON EARTH? I DO BELIEVE THE NEW JERESULEM OR NEW HEAVEN WILL BE HERE ON EARTH AFTER GOD DESTROYS THE WICKEDNESS ON THIS EARTH BY FIRE…IT MUST BE PURIFIED AND THEN HE WILL REVERSE THE CURSE THAT HAS BEEN ON THIS EARTH FROM THE FALL OF MAN DATING BACK TO ADAM AND EVE. BUT HEAVEN SPOKEN OF BIBLICALLY IS NOT FOUND WITHIN US…IT IS A PLACE TO ACTUALLY LIVE. MATTHEW 10:28 IS A CLEAR VISION OF HELL. THERE ARE MANY VERSES THROUGHOUT MATTHEW 5 THAT SPEAKS OF HELL….IT IS A REAL PLACE!

SO, PAULA, WHETHER I HAVE READ THE ENTIRE BOOK OR NOT MATTERS NOT. WHAT IS SAID WITHIN THE FIRST FEW PAGES MAKES THE ENTIRE BOOK WORTHLESS. WHAT I HAVE HEARD COME FROM TOLLE’S OWN MOUTH IS ENOUGH TO KEEP ME FROM HIS BOOK. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FEAR IN MY BELIEF OF GOD THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT…ACCEPT I AM FEARFUL FOR YOUR ETERNAL DAMNATION IN THE ETERNAL FIRES AND ABANDONMENT OF HELL IF YOU ARE NOT BORN AGAIN AND ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR AND LORD FOR ALL ETERNITY. AS JESUS STATES IN MATTHEW 10:28, “Do not be afraid of those that can only kill the body, but CANNOT kill the soul.” FEAR TOLLE, OPRAH, “THE NEW EARTH” BOOK OR YOU? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THE POST I HAVE WRITTEN STANDS AS A CLEAR WARNING TO YOU, TO TOLLE, TO OPRAH AND ANYONE ELSE FALLING HEAD OVER HILLS IN LOVE WITH THIS PHILOSOPHY…DO NOT FALL FOR THIS LIE, PAULA. WHAT YOU DO IS BETWEEN YOU AND GOD, BUT YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE BEFORE YOUR LIFE IS OVER THAT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF GOD…THAT RIGHT SIDE IS ONLY FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST.

IN PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS CHRIST,
    SCOTT

Paula, you had mentioned your petty ego in your comments above. This is an issue with everyone. A Part of that ego also has given us preconcieved belief’s about God that are not biblically based but based on what someone else has told us…a preacher growing up, parents, an author like Tolle, a teacher like Oprah, etc. In Ezekiel 14, we find some very great words against taking such ego or idols as the scripture calls it before God’s word. In verse 3, “Idols” is like a “log” that is in the way of understanding truth. It can also be found as a wrong idea “log jamming” your intillect or will “heart”. The “stumbling blocks” is the instigation of evil, evil thoughts, inciting evil. In this condition no one can find the truth in God’s word unless he allows God to “examine” his heart. Psalm 26:1-3, “…I have trusted in teh Lord without wavering. Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind…and I walk continually in your truth.” How can this person walk continually in God’s truth? By allowing God to examine his heart and mind and show him of ways that are not truth. The final point of Ezekiel on this is found in Ezek 14:6 tell them this, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “REPENT!” Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices.” If any person finds themselves going to church or a pastor or a prophet to inquire about God with this idol in his heart and a stumbling block before his face…God says He will answer this person Himself with this…”I will set my face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I AM the Lord.”

So, you are looking in right the place by addressing your ego or idol within your heart…each one of us must do this daily. I would encourage you to seek the Lord in the bible and NOT within the pages of Eckhart Tolles books or within the preaching of Oprah Winfrey’s philosophy.

    In Christ Jesus my Lord,
    Scott
