The Rock that will not move!

Posted by Scott on October 23, 2009

“The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, and my Deliverer.; my God is my Rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my Shield and the horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold.”  -Psalm 18:2

-God is my rock that cannot be moved.

-God is my fortress that cannot be penetrated by any human invention.

-God is my deliverer in times when it seems impossible.

-God is a refuge of rest and revival.

-God is a shield that covers me from above my head to my feet that no one can go through, over or around.

-God is my salvation!

-God is the stronghold of strongholds who will not let me go when the winds of the storms of life rage past me.

Who is this God?  This God is God Almighty, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ my Savior, the Faithful, the True, and the Lamb of God! This is the God I serve and put my trust in.

“They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings and with Him will be His called, chosen and faithful followers.”  -Revelation 17:14

Who is this King of Kings and what will He look like one day?

“…there before me was a white horse, whose rider is Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. he has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven follow Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule them with an iron sceptor,’ He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”  -Rev 19:11-16

That describes the Lord I serve.  Nothing whimpy, feminine, or sissified about my King. He will return someday as conqueror and ruler over all.

A Reminder For Us Believers…Be Gracious!

Posted by Scott on October 15, 2009

Titus 3:1-7

1. Submit to the governing authorities-God has placed them in charge for a reason

2. Be obedient by living under the laws of the land so long as they do not violate God’s high law.

3. Do good to everyone every chance you get.

4. Do not talk bad about other people in an evil, untrue manner.

5. Do not get into fights constantly.

6. Be gentle with other people around you, be gracious.

7. Be courteous to those around you.

Remember, we were once unbelievers thinking the opposite of these things. We were once unholy and unruly in our ways in this world. However, God did a tremendous work in our hearts so that we can treat people differently. This work in our lives enable us to treat other respectfully, graciously, and with tenderness in order to win them over to the Lord.

Remember, God showed us undeserved favor when He saved us. This same grace can be shown to our fellow man as we go about our daily routines. Those not in our spiritual family may not act right, but how can they, their father is the father of lies, so they remain deceived all the time, but we on the other hand can live in contrast to that, by pouring on the love to them which our adversary hates.

I sit in this pit and wait!

Posted by Scott on October 10, 2009

Adapted from Psalm 130

“Lord, I am down here in this deep dark pit, can you hear me?

My voice is weak and my heart even weaker, can you hear me, Lord?

I hope you can hear me as I cry out to you for mercy and forgiveness!

Lord, if you keep score of all my wrongs without mercy who can ever survive?

But Lord, I know you are full of forgiveness and mercy.

You are to be feared, because You are the Almighty God!

So, I sit here in this deep dark pit, reading Your Word, patiently waiting.

It is in my Lord’s Word I am hoping to find peace and comfort always.

Every morning I wake up anticipating what You will do that I can be a part of.

I do this every single morning, watch and wait for You!

People, rest assured all hope is in the Lord.

In the Almighty God is a love unimaginable!

In the Almighty God is a love that never ceases!

In Him, is a restoring love that never grows cold!

Everyone, our Lord and Savior will restore His own.

All of our sins will be forgiven, be patient, be repentful!

God will hear your cry from any dark pit you find yourself in!”
